Rivian’s Normal, Illinois manufacturing plant is the company’s primary U.S. vehicle production facility and a major automotive manufacturing operation in the Midwest. The plant produces Rivian electric vehicles and has undergone significant expansion to support higher production volumes and the company’s next generation of vehicles. Rivian’s Normal operation includes vehicle assembly, battery and drivetrain integration, paint, stamping, body construction, quality inspection, logistics, and other manufacturing processes required to build electric vehicles at scale. The facility has been central to Rivian’s production since the company began manufacturing vehicles there and continues to receive investment as the product lineup expands. In 2026, Rivian reported producing 19,751 vehicles at its Illinois facility during the third quarter while ramping the R2 program. The plant is located at 100 Rivian Motorway in Normal, Illinois and remains one of the most important U.S. electric-vehicle manufacturing sites.
